I am doing preliminary research to see if anybody would be interested in attending a LAN party from 9:00am to about 4:00am the next day, where the primary focus would be a game called ARMA 2. I will have between 12 to 16 seats available at a residence in SE Salem with a large livingroom.

Depending on attendies' preferences, I would be charging $2 per head or $7.00 per head if snacks and drinks are provided, or $10 per head if snacks, drinks, and dinner are provided.

A demo of the game is available at arma2.com and the full version is probably best to get at Frys right now at $44.

Id be down! It would be a good chance to play ARMA 2. It would give us a break from the TF2, L4D, COD4 games we play at every LAN.

I've never played ARMA2, so this is good excuse to buy it. What day will be LAN party?

I'm not sure when I will get this party going. I'm checking to see who would be interested right now. Sofar I have Zixonija, Bnash101125 on Keizer Lan, and CPL Pleasurement on the NW Gaming site, and Astronut in Eugene expressing interest. Marcus in Portland is interested, but doesn't have a gaming rig up for the chalange yet.

Any number of people are ok for one team in ARMA2 and it does have a coop multiplayer of up to 64 people. It also has coop campaigns consisting of up to 4 players. You can even visit a website called armaholic.com to download user missions and campaigns, some of which rival the game's developers.

I have got the LAN scheduled!!!!!! It will happen Sept 26th at 9:00am Saturday morning and go on till about 4:00am Sunday morning.

We will be playing ARMA2 and ARMA for those who don't have the latest and greatest gaming rigs. Frys and Best Buy carry ARMA2 for around $45. ARMA is best found on ebay and usually goes for around $10.

Other games are welcome, its going to be a long day/night afterall. Feel free to bring your own snacks and drinks. I will provide iced tea and coolaid.
