| If you install Windows XP on your laptop, it will probably help your framerates in COD4. But that game relies heavily on your graphics card though. So I am not sure. You will be happier with XP anyway. Regardless if it helps COD4 or not. You will probably be able to see \\fileserver!
Just backup your files to another drive, use the Windows XP install to wipe out the partitions and make a new one just for XP. You should be fine. _________________ KZRLAN - Keizer, Oregon LAN Party

| If HP is anything like the rest of the computer manufactures they will have a seccond partiton with your OS backup along with the rest of your software. I would if you can back that info up by either making a DVD of it or moving it to another hard drive. Also take note of what size your partitions are now so just in case some day you wish to use that vista restore that it will work. Alot of backup cd/dvds (and that is what the partition is in essence) will not work if the partition is not the same as to what it was installed on. IE if you delete the partitions and you had a 50g hard drive and they were separated onto 1 40g( your main) and a 10g(your backup) then you need to restore it back the way it came. On others it will not matter because they will reformat and partition the drive when they run. So again just to be sure MAKE A BACKUP!!! As for CD keys I would not ask for that stuff on this forum or any other forum. That kind of request should be mail via email or chat as it can bring trouble to the host of this forum. Hope this post helps you out. If you have any other questions let me know. _________________ NWL Head Admin http://www.NW-LAN.com One by one the Vistas steal my sanity. |
