I am building some mid/low range PC's for my friends and family as well as some of my own needs that shuffling though random used parts should be the cheapest option. So I just moved into Salem I have looked using google maps but I don't know which stores have randoms used parts and if they do how good the prices and service is. Or if some of you have a surplus of parts we could work something out there to.

There are a few computer stores in Salem. I don't know too much about them though. I don't go to them usually. I mostly buy computer stuff online. PC Club was good. But they went away. The best way to find out who is good is to visit them I guess. Maybe somebody else knows more about the local computer stores than I do.
What kind of parts are you looking for? I might have something. Or know of somebody who does.

Right now I'm looking for fans a good agp Video card and ram to finish up this first PC. Then later I will need start from scratch on the next PC so I'll need all there is for a basic gaming PC.
Surprisingly, Office Depot, Staples, and Best Buy have a decent selection of fans and other small accessories too.
The AGP video card is a little tougher to find. But it is possible. Have you tried Craigslist or ebay? I have purchased/sold things on Craigslist and it has went well. Though, nobody might be selling what you need right now. Its still a good place to look.
I assume you are into LAN parties/computers/etc. I recommend joining the PDXLAN forum. Its a great community for gamers in Oregon, Washington, etc. They also have a 'Marketplace" wanted section that you can post what you want/need. More than likely somebody has something and it could be shipped to you. http://www.pdxlan.net/forums

It is a sad state of condition for people wanting to purchace good AGP cards out there. Any decent AGP card is going to cost as much as a PCI-E card that is four times better. The best common Nvidia AGP card out there is the Geforce 7800GS and the best ATI AGP card out there is the Radeon X1950Pro. Unfortunately both cards are running around $110 on ebay.
